The challenge
A load-bearing wall split the kitchen from the family room, and the only window sat off-center over a double sink. Storage was deep, dark, and mostly unreachable.
The design
We carried the load on a flush beam, centered a new window on the sink run, and planned inset cabinetry around real use: drawers for pots, a tall pantry wall, and a hunter green island that anchors the room.
